No, braces shouldn’t be painful. You may feel some slight soreness and discomfort after fitting and adjustment appointments, but this will go away in a few days and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relief if needed.

You can still eat most of your favourite foods during treatment, but there are some foods that can damage or dislodge your brackets. We recommend staying away from very hard or sticky foods, and cutting crusty sandwiches or pizza into bite-sized pieces before eating.

No. Invisalign^® aligners apply gentle pressure to induce movement in the tooth. As a result, you may initially feel slight discomfort when the set of aligners is changed. However, this is only temporary and is an indication of the progress of the treatment.

Yes. The aligners can be removed while brushing, flossing and eating. Although the aligners may be taken out for special occasions and short breaks, it is recommended that they be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day to achieve optimal results.

Brushing and rinsing the aligners with lukewarm water cleans them. You could also use special cleansing tablets. After every meal, you should brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in.
